ABOUT:
Kalos Eidos (KE) was inspired by the hypnotizing visual evolution of a kaleidoscope and its dependence on human interaction. The objective was to create a conversation between sight and touch within a site specific installation. KE was a designated Scotiabank Nuit Blanche Independent Project and was designed to accommodate collaboration within the community. Through the artistic direction of Hogg&Borg, the installation featured the work of over 40+ independent artists and allowed for hundreds of participants to interact within the space during the 12 hr, sunset to sunrise event.
Kalos Eidos received no Scotiabank event funding and therefore relied heavily on community donations and up-cycled materials. We would like to thank everyone who donated time, money, supplies and art towards this project.
